Edubuntu Terminal Client Getting There

We have been trying to get this work happen for a very long time. It has been many false starts and a new people along the way but it has finally got some visible results thanks mainly to Hayden Wall (legend)

He is on this page in the group photo somewhere.

The machine on the right in this pic is the thin client. It is a P3 650 with no hard drive so its very quiet and the kids tell me its the same speed as the P4 2.6's that it sits next to. Score !

Goddamn Vandalism

Had a fun one today.
In the middle of one of our Year 9 classes two of the little darlings lifted a 17 inch monitor (not a light thing) off a computer (the computer is a tower lying on its side) and then opened the side, pulled the ram out of the still running machine, then put it back together.

This pisses me off a lot...

L2P Meetup

I have been a hopeless World of Warcraft addict (worldofwarcraft.com) for about 2 years now. It started with 4 or 5 of my real life friends starting to play it and at the time I swore I would never pay a monthly for any game. The problem started when I was at their places and they would be playing this cool looking game with my other firends and I would be missing out. Eventually I gave in and bought a copy for myself.
We have been playing with a fairly constant set of people for more than a year now, with some people quitting the game and others joining. Up until recently all these people have been disembodied voices on Teamspeak (getteamspeak.com) represented by a few pixels on my screen.
At the beginning of 2007 one of our long time in game friends who had gone overseas told us he was coming back to Aus in July and that he would be in Melbourne for a weekend.
July is my brothers birthday and I knew he would be going to Melbourne for it so I said to Crossout aka Nick that I would come down and meet up for bit of fun.
There were a couple of others who were interested and the idea snowballed into 28ish people.
We had dinner then went to Prince's in Carnegie (poolhall) and then some of us went out.
Of the people that went the average age was closer to 30 than 20. This might be because we dont put up with immature little shits in game, aswell as a reflection of the increasing age of online gamers.
It was a great night and every person had a ball !

We play with a few people from New Zealand and America and after the success of the melbourne trip I am already planning a trip to New Zealand, Ive even been invited to a wedding of a couple that play WoW with us, let alone the free accomodation Ive also been offered.
What a great way to see the world.
